I’m Elena Vance, an independent illustrator based in Portland with a passion for visual narratives. My work lives at the intersection of editorial precision and whimsical imagination.
Over the last eight years, I’ve partnered with publishers, game studios, and advertising agencies to create artwork that resonates. Whether it’s a poignant editorial piece or a vibrant children's book spread, I bring the same curiosity and craft to every project.

Discovery
Every project begins with deep listening. I immerse myself in your brief, audience, and story to find the visual heartbeat of the concept.
Sketching
Rough compositions and exploratory thumbnails help us align on direction early. Iteration is cheap here; clarity is the goal.
Refinement
Chosen sketches evolve into detailed line work. I refine shapes, perspective, and character expressions until the drawing sings.
Coloring
Color palettes are chosen to evoke the right emotion. I paint with intention—balancing light, texture, and atmosphere.
